Saturday, March 06, 2021
10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Central Standard Time

At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize advantages and disadvantages of various practice settings.
  • Identify leadership opportunities within the local practice/organization and within the greater medical community.
  • Analyze the various physician performance and compensation metrics.
  • Use AAPM&R resources for licensure, MOC, and practice performance.
This unique virtual conference is intended for physiatrists who are beginning their PM&R training (PGY2-PGY4) to physiatrists within 3 years of graduating from residency or fellowship. The conference will touch upon topics that are rarely, if ever, taught formally in residency. Topics will range from resume-building strategies to job-searching advice; from interview techniques to contract negotiations. You'll finally learn the definition of an "RVU'' and learn about other compensation models. You'll learn about fellowship and non-fellowship career tracts. A discussion will also include private practice vs. academic vs non-clinical career options. Seasoned physiatrists will also offer their expertise on how to start your own private practice. So, please join AAPM&R in this special affair intended to help you make some of the most important decisions of your career.
